Guide Dogs SA NT

The Law Society of South Australia is proud to announce that Guide Dogs SA.NT is our selected Charity Partner.

Jan Martin - Executive Director, LSSA, and Winnie Pelz - CEO, Guide Dogs SA.NT
Guide Dogs SA.NT has been established for more than 50 years and provides services throughout South Australia and the Northern Territory, including remote indigenous communities. Initially established to train and provide guide dogs for people with major vision loss, Guide Dogs SA.NT is today an organisation which provides a wide range of services for people with vision and hearing loss or impairment. However, the program with the highest profile in the community is the guide dog training program – and it is the one which receives no government support, depending instead on community generosity and goodwill.

We have establishing a special Law Society of South Australia fundraising initiative whereby members can assist in raising much needed funds to pay for and name a guide dog on behalf of our industry. Members are working hard to raise $25,000 to purchase and train a guide dog, providing independence for someone in the community with vision loss. The Society is well on its way to reaching this target with over $9,000 raised already towards the $25,000 target.
