Earlier this year, with support from the Children and the Law Committee, the Society commented on two proposed reforms to the Education and Children’s Services Act.
The Education and Children's Services (Inclusive Education) Amendment Act 2025 implements part of the government's response to the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability. The changes aim to strengthen access and inclusion in education for children and young people with disability. This was passed by Parliament on 11 November 2025 and received Assent on 27 November 2025.
