Young People and the Law: A Law Week event

The Society will host an event during Law Week on Thursday, 21 May 2026, looking at laws and legal issues affecting young people. Young people and their parents and teachers are encouraged to attend and pose questions to our panel.

Panellists include SA’s Guardian for Children Shona Reid, technology law expert Dr Colette Langos, Uniting Communities youth lawyer Guglielmo Plain, child protection lawyer Joanna Caracoussis, and criminal lawyer James Caldicott.

The discussion will cover topics such as cyberbullying, image-based abuse, deepfakes, employment rights, traffic law, police search powers, vaping, alcohol, and more.
